Virginia Wesleyan University situated on a 300-acre park-like campus in the coastal town of Virginia Beach, just miles from the Atlantic Ocean and the Chesapeake Bay. Campers will enjoy playing on the dedicated field hockey pitch, Birdsong Field. Don't miss this opportunity to experience the insider's view of the facilities and collegiate experience.

Campers will enjoy access to the best coaches will aid your ability to reach new heights as a player. This camp is for ages 10-18 and will cover all the technical and tactical training to help you improve. Every camper will receive a limited edition reversible jersey, ball, water bottle, and lanyard as well as other fun prizes. Revolution Field Hockey Camps are USA Field Hockey Partner Camps - making recommendations into the Futures program.

About Our Coaches

Christina Walker

Christina Walker begins her seventh season as the head coach of the field hockey program in 2019.

In just her third season with the Marlins, Walker took the squad to the ODAC tournament for the first time since the 2011 campaign, winning six games in the regular season. She followed that up with a seven win season in 2016, including four wins in ODAC play. The conference win total was the most by a Marlin squad since the 2011 season.

Prior to her time at Virginia Wesleyan, Walker served as an assistant coach at Wake Forest for six seasons, helping guide the Demon Deacons to four NCAA appearances and two national semifinals.

She has also served as Head Coach for Futures site from 2008 to 2012 while also holding the position of Site Director of Futures in Winston-Salem from 2009 to 2011. Walker coached the U16 NFC’s in 2010 and has been an assistant director for Wake Forest Hockey Camps.

A face on the national scene, Walker has coached the FDIC camp in 2011 for Elite USA high school players, a camp that’s sanctioned by United States Field Hockey. She also was invited to coach an AAU Junior Olympics team in the summer of 2015.

Walker attended the Coaches Forum in 2012 and 2014 and holds Level 2 Coaching Certification from U.S. Hockey. She has been a Futures Certified Coach since 2005.

She earned her Bachelor’s in public and community health from the University of Maryland where she played in goal for four years for the Terrapins. She was the goalie for Maryland’s 2005 and 2006 national championship teams and ACC Championship team in 2005. She was named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team in 2006.

Walker holds a Masters of Arts in liberal studies from Wake Forest, graduating in 2011. She currently owns Back of the Net Field Hockey, LLC.


Camp Details

Check in/out: Day Campers check in daily at 9am. Check out daily at 3pm. (check out for half day campers is 12pm)

Age & Ability: Day camp is open to ages 10-18 of all ability levels. Half-Day camp is open to ages 6-9.

Meals Provided: Campers are to bring their own lunch.

11:30 – Cool Down & Extra Help

12:45 – 1:30pm Spike Ball, Frisbee & Recess Games
2:00pm-3:00pm – Field Hockey Session// Strategy & Game Concept Training
3:00pm – Campers Depart
