Director's Bio
Marybeth Freeman a 5x NCAA Division I player & coach joined the Columbia University Lions in April 2010. In her first season as Head Coach she led the team to a 10-7 and then a 9 -8 winning season in 2011.
Prior to joining the Lions Marybeth has been on the University of Maryland sidelines
for seven of the most successful seasons in history.
During this time, she helped lead the squad to three
National Championships and three ACC conference
championships.
Marybeth has been involved with the
USA Field Hockey Futures program for Maryland and
New Jersey for five years, serving as head goalkeeping
and field player coach for the Maryland site and head goalkeeping coach for all of New Jersey. She is also an
assistant coach for the USA Field Hockey Mid-Atlantic
High Performance team.
As a four-year starter at Old
Dominion, Marybeth was an integral part of a team that
posted an 81-17 (.827) record, won four straight CAA
conference titles and two National Championships
during her tenure.
She was a two-time All-CAA selection, a four-time NFHCA National Academic Squad selection and a CAA Scholar-Athlete. A native of Holland, Pa., Marybeth attended Council Rock High School where she had a school-record 19 shutouts as a senior, while also leading her team to three Suburban League Championship Titles.
