Sarah Krombolz the American University Assistant Coach is in her sixth season with the program. The 2007 squad returned to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth straight year after capturing the Patriot League regular season and tournament title. AU was ranked in the Div I Top 20 and saw 3 players earn All-American Honors.

A 2001 graduate of the University of Iowa with degrees in communication studies and marketing, Thorn was a three-time All-Big Ten selection and an All-American pick as a four-year starter for the Hawkeyes from 1996-99. As a senior captain and the team co-MVP, Thorn was named to the Big Ten All-Tournament team while helping Iowa to the 1999 NCAA Final Four.
