Director's Bio

University of Maryland Assoc. Head Coach Marybeth Freeman will direct this camp. Marybeth has been with the Terps for four seasons, where she spearheads the goalkeeper training, recruiting, team academic success, and coordination of the team’s travel. In 2005 & 2006, Coach Freeman helped her team to the NCAA Division I National Title.  

When not with the Terps, Coach Freeman is one of the few field hockey coaches in the nation producing instructional videos for goalkeepers. Marybeth serves as site director and head goalkeeping coach for the USFHA Futures Program at the University of Maryland, while also being head goalkeeping coach for the New Jersey sites. Additionally, she coaches the goalkeepers and defense for the Maryland Thundersticks of the USFHA Elite Performance Training Center.

Marybeth was a four-year starter for Old Dominion University, graduating in 2003. She led her team to four straight Colonial Athletic Association titles and two NCAA National Championships. She was a two-time All-CAA selection and had an exceptional career game record of 81- 17. Marybeth was a four-time NFHCA National Academic Squad selection and a CAA Scholar-Athlete. A native of Holland, Pa., Marybeth attended Council Rock High School where she had a school-record 19 shutouts as a senior, while also leading her team to three Suburban League Championship Titles.
