Director's Bio

Catholic University of America Head Coach Gia Cillizza will direct this Revolution Field Hockey Camp for the third summer. Gia has been a part of the Catholic University coaching staff for 10 years and at the helm of the program for the past seven. She helped transform Catholic into a nationally recognized program and in the process became its winningest coach. In 2006, she was named the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Coach of the Year and guided her team to its first ever top seed in the CAC. Coach Cillizza and her staff followed this up with the 2007 and 2008 Landmark Coaching Staff of the Year award. The 2008 team finished its season as the Landmark Conference regular season champions and ECAC Tournament runners up.

Gia, a St. Louis, Mo., native, was the captain at Visitation Academy (high school) the year they went 22-0 and captured the Midwest Championship. She attended Miami University of Ohio where she was a four-year letter winner and two-time Captain. Coach Cillizza remains highly involved with the USFHA and is a USA Field Hockey Futures Site Director and Head Coach and coached an Under 19 team at the NFT in July. In 2008 she was appointed senior women's administrator where she oversees seven varsity programs, directs the department's major events and programs, mentors coaches and handles special projects and committees. This is in addition to being the Associate Athletic Director at CUA since 2006. She is also working on a master's degree in psychology at CUA.
