Carol Knerr is the Amherst College Head Field Hockey and Assistant Lacrosse Coach. She has been with the field hockey program for seven seasons, spending the last five as the head coach, accumulating a 49-41 career record in the highly competitive NESCAC League. Before coming to Amherst Coach Knerr was an assistant coach at Dartmouth College, where she was the goalkeeper specialist and helped the team to an ECAC Championship.
The Wyndmoor, PA native was a standout women’s lacrosse and field hockey player at the University of Richmond, where she was a four-year starter and captained both sports. Carol graduated in 1998 with a degree in leadership studies and a minor in sports science.
Joining Carol will be Julie Zoolkoski, American International College Head Field Hockey Coach. Before taking the helm of AIC, Julie spent the 2005 season as the Assistant Coach for Washington & Jefferson University and the two prior years with Carol at Amherst College.
Coach Zoolkoski graduated from The College of William and Mary in 2003 after finishing an outstanding career as a three-year starter for the Division I powerhouse. Julie led her team to a Top 20 National Ranking and two NCAA Div I Tournament appearances in her three lettering seasons. In her senior year, Julie was named to the Conference All-Tournament Team and received Academic Achievement Honors.
